Cities spark innovation, creativity and progress. But as cities attract more people, living spaces become smaller and more expensive. The tradeoff is in the experience: less desirable spaces, with less room for everything and everyone.

Our goal is to empower people to live large in a small footprint. We believe spaces should expand and adapt to our lives, that smarter spaces can provide us with the flexibility we need, and deliver the experience we want, by transforming effortlessly—almost magically. At Ori, we create these spaces.

Our origins

We started designing cities at the MIT Media Lab to respond to the challenges of urban density. Through this work, we concluded that the design of the spaces had to be totally reimagined. After years of research, Ori was born, with a name inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding.

Our team
