Getting Around

The Clarendon-Courthouse neighborhood is a commuter's dream. Its easy access to major transportation hubs, including having two Washington Metro stops border the neighborhood, making moving around the city a breeze. Most notably, this neighborhood is served by the Blue, Orange, and Silver Metro lines at the Court House and Clarendon stops. You can leave your car at home to run errands by walking or using the abundance of bus routes along Wilson Blvd and Clarendon Blvd. Clarendon-Courthouse is even rated the 2nd most walkable neighborhood in Arlington!

Things to Do

For those who love to shop, you'll find a great mix of national and local stores at The Crossing Clarendon, a shopping mall located in the vibrant walking district. With 10 acres of shops, restaurants, and green spaces, The Crossing Clarendon is more than just a shopping center; it's a hub of community activity. Better yet, it’s been voted Best of Arlington’s shopping destinations multiple years running. At the Crossing, you can find whatever you need from books at Barnes & Noble to the latest athleisure wear at Lululemon.

Clarendon Courthouse is perfect for solo renters.

Staying active is a breeze with numerous gyms in the area, including Orangetheory Fitness, Soul Cycle, Xtend Barre Arlington, and BASH Boxing. If you prefer a walk or bike in the park as your exercise, the Custis Trail is easily accessible and is perfect for biking and jogging. Other nearby parks include Rhodeside Green Park to enjoy a nice picnic, Rocky Run Park for two full-sized basketball courts, and the wooded McCoy Park for barbecues and community gatherings.

Clarendon-Courthouse also offers a wealth of entertainment and recreation options. Catch the latest blockbusters at AMC Courthouse Plaza 8, or enjoy a Saturday at the Courthouse Farmers Market. This weekend tradition is adored by the local community where you can pick up everything from farmstead goat cheese to pastured bison. If you can’t wait until the weekend to do your shopping, a Whole Foods and Trader Joes are smack in the middle of the neighborhood.

If you're relocating to D.C., you should live at The Commodore.

Clarendon-Courthouse offers an array of dining options, from casual chains to upscale local favorites. No need to travel far for great food – it’s all in your backyard! If you're a fan of international cuisine, you'll find options like Mejana Lebanese Cuisine, Mexicali Blues, and Sushi Rock. For casual American food, Arlington Rooftop Bar & Grill offers a great view of the city and Tupelo Honey offers classic Southern comfort food. For those with a sweet tooth, we could not recommend Nicecream and Bayou Bakery enough. And if all else fails and  you can’t decide what you’re in the mood for, there’s also a Cheesecake Factory!

Nightlife

Even though Clarendon-Courthouse is on the smaller size with 8,000 residents, there are plenty of spots to enjoy a cocktail at the end of a busy day. Locals love Screwtop Wine Bar because it’s also a wine and cheese shop! Enjoy a charcuterie board while you sip at Screwtop or dine on classic pub food at Heritage Brewing Co. Market Common Brewpub & Roastery. If you prefer Spanish food, Pamplona cocktail bar has an amazing lunch, dinner, and happy hour menu filled with classic Spanish dishes.

Beer enthusiasts will appreciate The Lot and Courthaus Social, two beer gardens both perfect for a relaxed evening with friends. If you prefer to pair your drinks with live entertainment, check out The Pinemoor for live piano performances in an intimate setting.
