Ori was founded in 2015 in Boston. We started designing cities at the MIT Media Lab and realized that in order to respond to the challenges of urban density, the architecture and design of the spaces where we live and work had to be reimagined. After years of research at MIT and countless prototypes, we spun-out Ori as a company—taking inspiration for our name from the Japanese art of paper folding.
